They Can Break Down Over Time

Over time amber bulbs, which are used primarily in turn indicators, become blistered by the heat of the element and begin to lose their color. In this example the color of the third bulb is almost completely gone. (Click the image to enlarge.) 


Don't Risk a Fix-It Ticket

The problem with the above scenario is that you may get pulled over and get a "fix-it ticket". While this won't cost you much, its embarrassing, and the paperwork can be a hassle.
